The NOMAD Modern Leather Case is a leather case designed for the iPhone 17 Pro Max and iPhone 18 Pro Max. Horween® leather in Burgundy Chromexcel
The burgundy version of the case is made from Horween® leather sourced from the USA. It is a limited Burgundy Chromexcel variant, characterised by a deep red colour with subtle purple tones. The leather is finished by hand using traditional tanning methods, so each case may develop a slightly different appearance over time. Everyday use may cause minor marks, scuffs and scratches to appear, gradually creating a natural, distinctive patina.
Construction designed to fit the phone
The case consists of a polycarbonate frame, protective microfibre lining and a grippy TPU bumper. This construction helps keep the phone securely positioned inside the case and reduces the risk of the device coming into contact with the hard surface of the case. The flexible bumper makes the case easy to put on and remove, while surrounding the edges of the device.
Protection against the effects of drops
NOMAD claims protection against drops from heights of up to 8 feet. Raised edges around the screen and camera help reduce direct contact between these components and the surface when the phone is placed face down or with its rear side down. The bumper is 2.2 mm thick, while the edge height above the screen is 0.85 mm at the bottom and 1.0 mm along the sides and top of the phone.
Camera Control button support
The case features a glass Camera Control button. It has been designed to maintain access to camera control functions without removing the phone from the case. The button is integrated into the case construction and is intended to support camera operation in a way similar to the button located directly on the phone.
Aluminium side buttons
Anodised aluminium buttons provide access to the side controls and protect them from direct contact with the surroundings. Their construction allows the phone buttons to be used without removing the case, while complementing the leather finish of the burgundy case.
MagSafe and Qi2 compatibility
The built-in array of nickel-plated neodymium magnets enables the use of MagSafe-compatible accessories. The case also supports Qi2 wireless charging, so it does not need to be removed from the phone when using suitable chargers and magnetic accessories. The manufacturer states a magnetic force of 800–1100 gf when paired with certified Apple accessories. An additional positioning magnet supports the correct alignment of accessories requiring a specific orientation.
Practical lanyard attachment system
The internal lanyard attachment system allows a compatible strap or holder to be attached without using additional adapters placed on the outside of the case. The attachment point is located in a recess in the case, and the solution is integrated into its construction. This allows the user to carry the phone more conveniently or secure it during everyday use.
Camera and screen protection
The case is designed to fit the phone’s camera layout and features a cut-out that allows use of the rear lenses. Raised edges separate sensitive components from the surface on which the phone is placed. The microfibre lining helps reduce the risk of scratching the rear of the device when inserting it into and removing it from the case.
Everyday use and appearance
The smooth-to-the-touch Horween® leather gives the case a classic appearance, while the grippy TPU bumper makes it easier to hold the phone securely. The natural properties of the leather mean that the case may change in appearance with use.
